PlayEmber, a Web3 gaming monetization platform, received $2.3 million as a result of a pre-seed round headed by Shima Capital. Big Brain Holdings, Hyperithm, Warburg Serres, Lyrik Ventures, and Huobi Ventures are other investors in the round, the business said in a press release.
PlayEmber aims to make it easier for game advertising revenues to transfer from the web2 industry to the web3 through a Unity-based software development kit that provides a distinctive monetization strategy.
The company's co-founders, Hugo Furneaux and Jon Hook, have prior experience working for and with gaming companies like Voodoo, Lion Studios Homa Games, and BoomBit.
According to an interview with PocketGamer.biz, PlayEmber was initially a publishing firm for games and game development. Including the release notes, the platform will leverage the current games studio to expedite its expansion.
“Given PlayEmber’s combination of successful Web2 titles brought to the Web3 space, deep gaming expertise as the team builds out its SDK, and an exceptionally strong core management team, we see a very bright road ahead for PlayEmber and intend to support the team however we can as they build out this vision,” said Yida Gao, managing general partner at Shima Capital.
The organization has received sizable strategic support from the NEAR Foundation, a nonprofit organization that looks after the NEAR protocol ecology.
PlayEmber's beta version is already accessible. The funds, according to the company, will be applied to accelerating the growth of the team and platform.
